Ghana and Morocco have reached a landmark agreement to waive visa requirements for all categories of travelers between the two nations, marking a significant milestone in their diplomatic relations. The move, announced by Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, is expected to boost economic collaboration in key sectors such as agribusiness, tourism, and security.
“This progressive agreement will soon be presented to Parliament for ratification,” Ablakwa confirmed, emphasizing its potential to strengthen bilateral ties and facilitate smoother exchanges between citizens of both countries.
The Moroccan Ambassador to Ghana, Imane Ouaadil, also addressed recent social media rumors alleging violence against Africans in Morocco, firmly stating: “Ghanaians and all Africans in Morocco are safe. Reports of mass killings are completely false.”
Morocco now joins a growing list of African nations—including South Africa and Kenya—that have eliminated visa barriers with Ghana, reinforcing Pan-African integration and people-to-people connectivity.
This visa waiver is set to unlock new opportunities for trade, tourism, and cultural exchange, further solidifying Ghana and Morocco’s commitment to continental unity and shared prosperity.
