Ghana and Morocco Now Visa-Free for Travelers

Ghanaian passport holders can now visit Morocco without a visa, thanks to a new agreement between the two nations. Announced by Ghana’s Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the deal replaces traditional visas with a simple online authorization that processes in just 24 hours.

The move aims to boost tourism and business ties while making travel easier between Africa’s west and north. Both countries will also add more direct flights to handle the expected increase in travelers.

“African borders should connect us, not divide us,” said Ablakwa, calling the agreement a win for continental unity.

The change takes effect immediately, with details available through government travel websites. It follows Ghana’s recent visa-free deals with several other countries as part of efforts to open more travel opportunities for its citizens.

Morocco, which rejoined the African Union in 2017, continues to strengthen its African partnerships through easier travel policies.
