Afrofuture Returns to Accra: 2025 Festival Set for EL-Wak Stadium on December 28–29

Ghana’s premier music and culture festival, Afrofuture (formerly known as Afrochella), is making a highly anticipated return to EL-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra on December 28 and 29, 2025. The announcement comes hot on the heels of the successful Afrofuture Detroit edition, which featured heavyweight headliners including Davido, King Promise, Kidi, and Asake.

After last year’s beachside edition—Culture Beach Jam at Polo Beach Club, Labadi—the festival is going back to its roots at the iconic EL-Wak Stadium, a venue known for hosting large-scale concerts and offering an electrifying atmosphere perfect for a multi-day cultural experience.

While the full artist lineup for the Accra edition is yet to be unveiled, expectations are sky-high following the star-studded Detroit event. Past headliners in Ghana have included Burna Boy, Stonebwoy, Uncle Waffles, Ayra Starr, and Black Sherif, making Afrofuture one of the most anticipated year-end events in Africa.

The festival celebrates not only music but also fashion, art, food, and entrepreneurship—showcasing the richness and diversity of African and diasporic creativity. Its return to EL-Wak signals a move back to a central, capacity-friendly location ideal for both local and international attendees.

Tickets are expected to go on sale soon, with early bird passes likely to sell out fast.
